TSA – all theft all the time

Sigh. So much crime, so little time.

Yesterday we brought you the story of another TSA theft, with links to lots more. Today we bring you the story of one that happened back in July that we had missed. Sorry, we try, but it’s hard to keep up.

The July incident involved a 16-year-old passenger from Brooklyn named Chris Dunn. As he was going through security at JFK, a TSA agent pawed through his carry-on and helped herself to $100.

In a rare instance of surveillance video not going missing, the thief was caught. But apparently not fired.

For the icing on the cake, another TSA screener at the same airport was later that day caught stealing an elderly person’s cell phone.

As usual, the TSA’s propaganda machine — er, I mean PR department — issued its boilerplate statement: “We have a zero-tolerance policy for theft.”

Zero tolerance, yet it happens all the time. How do you account for that?

Oh, well. This must be what Americans want, since so many of them are putting up with it. After all, Can’t Be Too Careful. The Terrorists Are Everywhere!

TSA Screener Theft is certainly a problem that TSA has refused to address. Nor has TSA bothered to address TSA Screener Perverts or TSA Screener Thugs even though ample evidence is available to clearly show that a great many of these TSA employees infest our airports.

TSA policies call for the Assaultive Whole Body Feel Downs when little reason exist to do these things. TSA leadership, i.e., John S. Pistole, seems unable to grasp just how badly these things impact the publics opinion of TSA and its employees, evidence even shows TSA employee perception of itself is poor.

Airport screening functions should be returned to the airports and airlines, as they have a direct vested interest in keeping their customers returning to use these services.

TSA has totally failed its stated mission and should be disbanded immediately.

Is there any way to know the name of this screener who was caught on tape stealing from a 16-year-old and yet was not fired by TSA? Let’s make her infamous all across the Internet.

    • Daisiemae, not according to the article; see link.

    Indeed, there are terrorists everywhere.

However, they’re a lot easier to identify than we’ve been led to believe.

Go to any local airport and seek out the morbidly obese, braying, self-important, blustering goons barking out contradictory orders in ill-fitting blue shirts. You yourself have identified the largest, most well-funded terrorist organization in the history of the world.

I was in Vegas back in March. When I flew home, I had $213 in my bag. When I got to my destination, there was only $13 left. I certainly can’t PROVE anything, but I think that there was a TSA agent with sticky fingers involved…

    • Divemdic, I’m sure this happens all the time, way more than we can possibly know about. Most people don’t have the benefit of reporters standing by to tell their stories. Just as retail people will tell you more shoplifting goes on than they can ever catch, so, too, must more TSA theft be going on. Plus we have Pythias Brown’s testimony.
